Training Description:
Living and working abroad involves navigating complex power structures shaped by enduring colonial legacies, global inequalities, and intersecting social hierarchies. These continuities influence how we communicate, collaborate, and build relationships across cultural contexts today.
This online workshop invites participants to critically reflect on their own social positioning, values, and assumptions, and to consider how these shape their roles and responsibilities in international work.
Through practical exercises and group discussions, we will explore our expectations and concerns, examine how concepts such as culture, development, and cooperation are informed by colonial histories, and develop strategies to engage in ways that question and transform dominant narratives.
