Scholarships
Programme for Free Mover Students
The scholarship programmes for students who have freely entered Germany (Free Mover) are intended to fund academic degrees.
Programme Objective
The development policy scholarship programmes foster the academic qualification and political awareness of students who have freely entered Germany. The various religious and cultural backgrounds of the students inform and enrich churches and society.
Target Groups
The programme is intended for students from the Global South and Eastern Europe who are already registered at a German university or institute.
Place of Study
The study programmes take place exclusively in Germany.
Form of Support
The scholarships are without exception awarded to individuals.
Prerequisites
Applicants are recommended by a Protestant Student Congregation or, in exceptional cases, by a regional “Studienbegleitprogramm” (STUBE) (co-curricular programme for students). Students must have previously demonstrated engagement and interest in development policy. The course must be relevant to this context and, if possible, qualify students to return to their home countries. At least 50 percent of the scholarships are awarded to women.
Maximum Age
The maximum participant age is 40 years.
