Supporting young people worldwide

Scholarships

Brot für die Welt supports the education of young people from Germany, Eastern Europe and the Global South who demonstrate a commitment to society, faith and the principle of ecumenism. Our scholarship holders act as change agents for social, religious and ecumenical causes. They advocate for peace, justice and the integrity of creation in Germany and in their countries of origin.

We support change agents

Within our various programmes, we currently support the education of around 1,600 young leaders, refugees, people from disadvantaged backgrounds, and young people committed to religious and ecumenical causes in Germany, Eastern Europe and the Global South.

Our scholarship holders receive financial support, intensive personal and academic mentoring, and benefit from an extensive study accompanying programme, both digital and in person. The goal of this study accompanying programme is to develop and foster our scholarship holders in their roles as global change agents for social, religious and ecumenical causes.

Alumns work

Our alumns do great things and are committed to the goals of Brot für die Welt, namely peace, justice and the integrity of creation. Brot für die Welt makes a point of staying in touch with former scholarship holders, even after the scholarship has ended.
