Returning professionals

Go for it!

With its reintegration programme, Brot für die Welt (Bread for the World) supports highly trained professionals from Africa, Asia and Latin America who are returning to their home countries.

The programme enables partner organisations to benefit from both the training and the high motivation of the returnees. It is aimed at persons who have been living in Germany for at least the past two years and who would like to return permanently to their home country.

Requirements

The following conditions must be fulfilled:

  • You are a citizen of an African, Asian or Latin American country.
  • You have been living in Germany for at least the past two years.
  • You hold a diploma or have nearly completed a degree in a subject which refers to global development issues.
  • You are engaged in church contexts and development policy activities.
  • You would like to return permanently to your home country.

Programme Services

Brot für die Welt is offering you:

  • A contract for a period of 36 or 24 months.
  • An intensive and contractually regulated preparatory phase regarding the new occupation in the country of origin.
  • Payment of travel expenses.
  • Subvention of other departure-related costs.
  • Financial support during the contract period.
  • Health insurance as well as accident insurance during the preparatory phase and during the first twelve months after departure.

  • A curriculum vitae in tabular form, indicating your nationality, your marital status and religious confession or your church affiliation.
  • A letter of recommendation of your parish, the Catholic or Protestant Student Congregation or the organisation of the Development Education Programme STUBE for students from Africa, Asia or Latin America.
  • A certificate about the duration of your residence permit in Germany.
