The Whistleblowing System of EWDE
In case there are justified grounds to believe that violations of the Code of Conduct of the Evangelisches Werk für Diakonie und Entwicklung have taken place, all persons or entities have the option to use the whistleblowing system.
Why should I report an incident?
When you report an incident you help to uncover irregularities at an early stage so that we can take action, preferably before any damage is done, or to offer remedies if damage has already occurred. In this way, you will be contributing to compliance with our principles, to the punishment of injustice and to the protection of the injured parties. In addition, you will be helping to reduce risks in the workplace and to avert damage and loss of reputation. It does not matter whether the risks and damages referred to above are as a result of misconduct on the part of individuals or due to procedural and process-related errors.
What violations can I report?
We, the Evangelisches Werk für Diakonie und Entwicklung (Protestant Agency for Diakonie and Development, EWDE), would like to encourage everyone to notify us of any suspected violations of the law or rules relating to the work of the Agency. Any report that managers, employees or persons close to the EWDE, as well as partner organisations, are behaving unlawfully or unethically is relevant. This includes any suspicion of:
- Corruption and bribery
- Embezzlement, fraud and misappropriation
- Conflicts of interest
- Sexual misconduct and sexual exploitation
- Violations of human rights.
Any information about actual or possibly imminent misconduct, as well as attempts at concealment, is of relevance.
The EWDE will investigate all reported incidents of violations and will ensure that they are clarified. The organisation shall, within the means available to them, ensure that there are no negative repercussions for the whistleblower, provided the reports of violations are justified.

The whistleblowing system can be used worldwide, around the clock and in several languages. It allows anonymous submission of reports and communication according to the highest security standards, even without providing email addresses or telephone numbers. The Integrity Team at the EWDE and the Ombudsperson have been designated as contact persons on the whistleblowing system.
