The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (Unión Internacional de la Conservación de la Naturaleza - UICN) is the world's oldest and largest international network for environmental protection. One focus of the UICN's work is therefore to strengthen the rights of indigenous and Afro-Meso-American population groups in political decisions that affect their territories.
