SUMMARY:Blended Learning Online-Seminar BL 01: Digital security ‒ how we ca
 n protect ourselves?
DESCRIPTION:Dangers in the digital space often remain abstract and not very
  tangible - until suddenly an untrustworthy e-mail appears or border contro
 ls snatch the smartphone and gain access to most personal information. Imme
 diately, we are spiraling: What contacts will the officials find? Did I rea
 lly make sure to delete the chat with home addresses and financial informat
 ion?\n\nDigital security is often ignored or victim of rationalization - un
 til it is too late. The participants of this training arm themselves agains
 t cyber-attacks with basic knowledge about digital security, learn about se
 lf-protection and develop a realistic, individual catalog of measures toget
 her with the trainers in order to protect themselves, their teams and conta
 cts. The focus is on account security, anonymity, encryption, and travel se
 curity. Previous technical knowledge is not necessary, but basic media and 
 internet skills are assumed. It makes sense to attend the training if the l
 ocation, the local infrastructure or at least the project are known.\n\n…in
  Short\n\n 	Theoretical and practical introduction to background and basic 
 knowledge about digital security 	Development of an individual "Threat Mode
 l" including recommendations for actions 	Learning and implementing various
  defensive measures based on the security concept \n\nTarget audience\n\n 	
 Professionals from Dienste in Übersee in preparation for work in partner or
 ganizations of Brot für die Welt (or shortly after leaving the country) 	Pr
 ofessionals from other services and mission work 	Employees of church aid o
 rganizations \n\nTimetable and venue\n\nBL 01, 26.03. ‒ 09.04.2025 (via Zoo
 m)\n\nThe total time required is approximately 30 hours. Three synchronous 
 online units take place during the training:\n\n 	Wednesday, March 26th, 20
 25, from 3-5 PM 	Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025, from 3-5 PM 	Wednesday, April 
 9th, 2025, from 3-5 PM \n\nOptional: questions and answers session, April 7
 th, 2025, at 3 PM.\n\nThis training takes place exclusively in English, no 
 simultaneous interpretation is possible.\n\nParticipation fee\n\n560 € per 
 person. Discounts are possible on request. Participation is free of charge 
 for professionals accepted by Dienste in Übersee in the selection interview
